I've hired and worked with a lot of search agencies and consultants over the years both organic and paid. And there are some patterns that repeat over and over.
For SEO, month one is always an audit, month two is a strategy, month three you get a roadmap that looks suspiciously like every other roadmap they've delivered. And by the time anything ships, half a year is gone and you are $30-50k lighter.
Paid is not much different. First thing is always reshuffling the account structure, renaming campaigns and Google Ads re-learning. Then you end up with brand, competitor, and head term campaigns which is the same three buckets every agency defaults to and a lot of reporting that makes it look like progress.
I've been on the client side of this long enough to know what's missing. Which is someone who gets going quickly, goes deep on research rather than defaulting to a blueprint, and is both strategic and hands-on. Not someone who sells you a strategy deck and disappears, and not a freelancer who needs constant hand-holding to move forward.
I work with a small number of dev tool companies at a time to help them with organic and/or paid search, depending on what makes sense for your stage. I come with my own point of view, do my own research, and propose something specific to your situation, even if you come to me with very little context to start with.
What I help with
- Organic search - strategy, technical SEO, content direction, documentation SEO
- Paid search - Google Ads (Search Ads only)
- Combined organic + paid - for companies who want one person owning the whole search channel
Who this is for
Dev tool and infra companies, typically seed to Series B, with a small or no marketing team. You know search matters but don't have the bandwidth or budget to hire in-house or brief an agency that doesn't understand your product.
How it works
Retainer-based, monthly. I keep my client list intentionally small with maximum two at a time so you get real attention. Direct communication with no account managers and very little slide decks (especially not fill-in-the-blank templates).
What people say
"We've worked together on the topics of our on-page SEO, content strategy, and sitemap restructuring, and have started to see consistent and gradual upticks in our core SEO metrics. Paired with Dino's pragmatic and considerate approach to SEO, it's been a great collaboration." - Ronak Ganatra, Head of Marketing, DatoCMS
"Dino is one of the few SEOs who actually understands the technical aspects behind Google's ranking tools. He is really great at distilling complex technical subjects and making them easy for non-technical marketers to understand and act upon." - Jordan Hollander, Co-founder, HotelTechReport
